Eleni Marneri Gallery invites you on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 12:00-18:00 to the ceramics exhibition “Intimacy in Transition” by Aris Galstyan
The collection draws inspiration from nature, from flowing forms and the connection between usability and aesthetics.
The pieces, with their inherent contrasts, invite us to discover the interplay between tranquility and dynamic expression, the structured and the spontaneous, the serene and the explosive. With references to human movement and traditional ceramics, the collection reinterprets the classic through a contemporary approach, transforming everyday objects into aesthetic stimuli not only for the eye, but also for the touch.
“For me, ceramics is a constant dialogue between simplicity and intensity, the random and the deliberate. Each piece is the result of careful observation, deep inspiration, experimentation and a living connection with the materials, which transform as I work with them. Before creating, I try to compose, to bridge everyday life with what moves me – the waves of the sea with my cup of coffee or raw nature with the soft curves of porcelain. My intention is to create pieces that delight, that go beyond usability.”
Aris Galstian, an Armenian sculptor, painter and potter, has been exploring the boundaries of ceramics for three decades through creations that balance form and functionality. In the exhibited collection, organic shapes meet asymmetrical forms, while the purity of white porcelain is contrasted with the intense inner color.
